I learned how to make cold-processed lye soap from my mother-in-law, Mary. Raising a large family on a limited income, she did what she had to do to save a penny. This included making her own soap in her country kitchen.
Although I don't use lye water made from wood ash and straw as Mary did, I do strive to make a mild, good-lathering lye soap and offer it at a reasonable price.
I hope you enjoy using our soap cakes as much as I enjoy making them.
